Maximum Protection On and Off-Road: Technical Specifications of Our Level 2 Gear

When undertaking long journeys or challenging motorcycle rides, safety is not optional—it is the foundation upon which every adventure is built. That is why SUDSTAR apparel and gear feature certified Level 2 (CE Level 2) protection, ensuring maximum impact absorption and reliability in any condition.

What Does Level 2 Protection (CE Level 2) Mean?

In the realm of protective gear for motorcyclists (PPE – Personal Protective Equipment), European regulations establish two certification levels for mechanical impacts: Level 1 and Level 2.

Level 1

This represents the baseline protection standard, ideal for low-speed urban riding. The maximum residual force transmitted to the body during an impact must not exceed an average of 35 kN (or 50 kN for chest protectors).

Level 2

This is the highest level of certified protection. It reduces the residual force transmitted to the body to less than half that of Level 1 (with average residual values below 18 kN for limbs and back, and below 15 kN for the chest). It offers a drastically higher capacity for absorbing impact energy.

Weaving and Construction of SUDSTAR Garments

The Level 2 protectors incorporated into our clothing line integrate seamlessly with a textile structure designed to withstand the most extreme stresses:

High-Density Cordura® Construction (500D/600D and 1000D)

Maximum resistance to abrasion, tearing, and puncture at critical impact points.

Dynamic Ergonomics

Internal viscoelastic protectors adapt to body heat, becoming flexible while riding and instantly hardening upon impact.

Multilayer Integration

A waterproof membrane, sealed zippers, and thermoregulated air vents work in synergy to ensure rider comfort is never compromised.

Official EU Declarations of Conformity (EU Regulation 2016/425)

All protectors used in SUDSTAR garments are manufactured in compliance with strict European Union standards for motorcyclist mechanical protection. As attested by the EU Declaration of Conformity issued by the authorized manufacturer Armanox® (Pvt) Ltd. (in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/425), the components meet three fundamental standards:

SCHEDA CERTIFICAZIONI DI SICUREZZA (MODULO B UE)

EN 1621-1:2012 Protezione contro impatti meccanici per gli arti (Ginocchia, Gomiti, Spalle)
EN 1621-2:2014 Protezione contro impatti meccanici per il paraschiena (Back Protector)
EN 1621-3:2018 Protezione contro impatti meccanici per il torace (Chest Protector)
Ente Notificato SATRA Technology Europe Ltd. (NB 2777) - Dublin, Ireland
Modelli/Certificati Serie Armanox® 201, 301, 401, 501 (Cert. 2777/XXXXX-01/E00-00)

Note for SUDSTAR riders: Choosing EN1621 Level 2 certified gear means riding with the assurance that every internal protector has been tested by independent notified bodies (SATRA Technology) to ensure maximum energy dissipation performance in the event of a fall.
